How Do You Attract Them?

Mealworms

The larvae of the Tenebrio Molitor beetle are known as mealworms. Mealworms can be eaten by birds such as bluebirds and chickadees. Mealworms can crawl so it is important to keep them in a place they cannot escape.

Mealworms can last for several weeks at 40-50°F. The worms can use a potato or apple slice as a moisture source.

Many country drivers will see Eastern Bluebirds while driving through the country during the summer in eastern North America. They may be perched on nest boxes or telephone wires, or calling out in a weak, waving voice, or dropping to the ground following an insect. The male Eastern Bluebirds can be captured with your binoculars. They are a stunning royal blue on their backs and heads, and warm red on their breasts. The grayer females have a more elegant appearance thanks to the blue tinges in their wings and tail.

Backyard tips
